Our Camps

Intro to CAD and Laser Cutting

In this exciting one week course, students will learn the basics of Computer Aided Design (CAD) and how to use a laser cutter. Designed to be an introductory experience, we will progress through a series of project ideas designed to take students from basic ideas to more complicated projects. Campers will also have the opportunity to participate in design challenges to stimulate the engineering mindset.

Physics Fun Week

In addition to our CAD and laser cutting-focused program, we are also proud to offer a Physics-focused camp for middle school students who are interested in the fundamental laws that govern the natural world. Our Physics camp is designed to introduce students to the fascinating field of physics through hands-on experiments and engaging activities. Our Physics camp is the perfect opportunity for students to learn from experienced educators and explore the exciting world of physics.

2025 Dates Coming Soon

What could be more rewarding than seeing your ideas come to life in real time! Each day in the CAD and Laser Cutting course students will work on creative designs that start out basic and add complexity as the week progresses. We will use Tinkercad as our software program. While quite basic and intuitive, Tinkercad is an excellent starting place for CAD design as many of the techniques can translate to more powerful CAD programs such as Fusion 360.

Our laser cutter is a Glowforge Pro with a powerful laser and a large platform. We will work with a variety of materials such as cardboard, MDF, plywood and acrylic. Laser cutting is a quick way to prototype ideas as most cuts take only minutes to complete. Students will learn how to adjust settings to create their desired cuts.

This course is aimed for complete beginners to computer design, though basic computer skills will be necessary such as navigating a web-based program, using login IDs and passwords, and understanding how to control-click. Campers will need to bring their own computer.

All supplies are included, and students will bring home their creations to share with their family.

Making Physics Phun!

Physics is the most basic and essential science. In this challenging and exciting one week camp, students will engage with a new topic each day with the goal of building a foundation for further exploration in school. All of the lessons are hands-on and project based. Time will fly as we build, test, measure and learn.

Example Schedule:

Monday: Lenses, Cameras, Eyeballs

Tuesday: Momentum, Impulse and Egg Drop

Wednesday: Electricity, Circuits and Power

Thursday: Magnetism, Motors, Generators

Friday: Time, Sundials, Clocks
